Post-production- update.

For the last two weeks I've been editing the footage & twitching the effects for best outcome for our video. Adam and I divided the work between each other so that I've done all of the narrative for the morning, wake up scene, the getting ready scenes, John back home scene, intimate scene and argument scene, whilst Adam was editing all the club shots and most of the performance.
We are then going to put both projects together and create our final music video by colour correction & effects put on by me.

Our rough cut is pretty much finished and by the end of the last week of term, we are going to have our final rough cut version done so that we can progress from that to our final project, including the website and the digipack.

Rough Cut -individual work.

0:00 - 1:02 - wake up scene, argument
2:48 - 3:30 - intimate scene, morning.
I've colour corrected the video, as well as edited appropriately to the song, cut out the footage we didn't need, put more footage in and put some effects on to enhance the music video.

End of Module 2

^ We've done a moodboard each for visual style. Mine focused on We found Love music video by Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris and Sweet Nothing by Florence Welsh ft. Calvin Harris.
^ Adam created the Digipack Influences prezi - I added my own information I obtained from internet.

^ We discussed it as a group and each added points to our idea, but I've typed it up and posted on blog as well as annotate it & constructed it on the bubbl.us website.

^ We discussed the points how to improve our work and I wrote it down, posted on blog and annotated it.

^ I've done notes and took screen captures for the music video "We found love" and Adam typed it up and added his ideas to mine.

I have completed all the research and planning and I'd say I've done it in reasonable detail. I took care of the main location for the narrative and the main actors. I organised it so they have appropriate costumes and got most of the props on the shoot by printing pictures, getting candles and shot glasses in the house.

Screenshots - Rough Cut Edit

I edited the first pieces of footage we shot over last few weeks. We have over 60% of the narrative done & edited now. I edited the intimate scene & the argument scene, I completed the lipsyncing of the actor & the shots of him storming back to the house. I've done colour correction that we are going to use for all of the video. The colour correction is inspired by Sweet Nothing music video by Florence Welsh ft. Calvin Harris & We Found Love by Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris which I presented in my research and inspirations. I made sure that shots were edited according to the beat so it is the music dictating the imagery like a music video should do.

Website Design Draft 1

This is a first website draft I've done for my project. I used the images I took during the photoshoot (edited ones, as well as original) and fitted them in a way they would be on the final product. I added a few pages, including home page, info page, gallery, promo (where our music video would be) and contact page.
For now I activated the link to my animatic on the page it says 'promo' just to give the rough idea of what it's going to look like whilst finished.
These are a couple of screenshots I took whilst editing the website:

First Shoot - Saturday, 18th of November.

My role on the first shoot was to set up the camera. I plugged in the battery, inserted the tape, attached the microphone and mounted the camera on the tripod, adjusting the heights and angles. I also adjusted the right white balance for the camera. After I set up the camera, I filmed few shots before we switched with my other group member. We made sure we filmed few shots each, so that the work was divided equally.

We kindly asked the actors (who are also media students) to get ready & do the make up themselves, following our specific instructions as we were setting the up the equipment to buy us more time. They were happy to help and we started shooting in no time!

Photoshoot -Edited photos.

I selected a few photos from the photoshoot & twitched with the effects & different levels of saturation, brightness, exposure, contrast and hue to make the photos look more professional. I am happy with the outcome. These few photos will definitely go on my website design which I am currently working on.

Photoshoot = "Pryce Oliver"

This is one of photos I already edited on photoshop.
This photo will go on my website draft which I am working on atm.

I took loads more shots:

Location Recce.

I've taken pictures of the room that we are going to use as our character John's bedroom.
There is a lot of things that we need to clear from the bedroom to set it up for the music video
so in our production schedule we will need to include all the time for the set up until we can start shooting.

please note: make sure to

I also to took a picture of Air and Breathe in Dartford. This is the club we are going to use for our night club shots and perfomance shots in our music video.

Animatic

I've created the Animatic for our Storyboard. Animatic is a motion version of the storyboard to present your final idea & the concept for the video in more visual form. The animatic, just like the storyboard is going to be my guide to show me what shots do I need and how is it going to look like. It's very probable that my final video will be a lot different to my storyboard and animatic but the point is to learn new skills and improve throughout the work.

Digipack Design 1

< front cover.

< back cover

I designed the first idea for my digipack for the music video, front and back cover. The front is a photo of the artist's face profile facing a massive speaker. The face would be distorted, as if it was quite literally "blown away" by the sound (the brilliance of it, or the volume). There would the title of the album & name of artist on the side of the speaker. The back is of the artist performing, standing with their back turned to camera, facing a massive audience in front of them, facing the lights brightening the stage.  On the top there would be song titles.
